Reenrollment Process & Deadlines

Students who wish to return to the University to complete a degree or to take additional courses must apply for reenrollment. The Student Success Office processes reenrollment applications and works with the University's academic colleges and departments in assisting students in their return to campus.

A student’s reenrollment application will be reviewed by the Faculty Petition Board if:

  • You were academically dismissed at the end of your last fall or spring semester of attendance.
  • You withdrew from your last semester of attendance and have withdrawn from a previous semester.
  • You withdrew from your last semester of attendance and had below a 2.00 GPA.
  • You withdrew from your first semester of attendance.

A student’s reenrollment application will not be reviewed by the Faculty Petition Board if:

  • You left or withdrew from the University with at least a 2.00 GPA and have not withdrawn more than once (excluding summer/winter term).
  • You were on academic probation during your last semester of attendance and one or more semesters have passed since you last registered for courses.

Reenrollment Blocks

Before an application can be processed, students must have financial and judicial blocks cleared by the appropriate offices (Bursar, Student Conduct). If a student has a block, the Student Success Office will inform the student within a week of receiving the application that his/her application cannot be processed until the block is removed.

Please ask students to check their accounts PRIOR to applying.

Many students have had outstanding accounts sent to the state collection agency. They may know they owe the state money but do not realize that their account is blocked here. Only the Bursar’s office can clear them. Students are responsible for following up on this clearance with the Bursar.

Students may answer questions on the application that indicate they have been in legal trouble. This automatically gives them a judicial block. Students must contact the Office of Student Conduct and submit the required documentation to receive a clearance slip.

Reenrollment Deadlines

Students who are dismissed or withdraw from the current semester and wish to return for the upcoming semester should apply for reenrollment before the "Dismissed from Current Semester" deadline listed below.

Students who previously attended the University and have not been enrolled for one or more semesters should apply by the preferred deadline. Note that applications can be submitted after the preferred deadline, but it is in the student's best interest to submit the application in a timely manner in order to receive a decision and be able to register for classes in time for the prospective semester to begin.

Prospective Semester Preferred Deadline Dismissed from Current Semester
Fall April 1 June 5
Spring November 5 January 7

Decision Timeline

The timeline for reenrollment application decisions varies for each application. Reenrollment applications are reviewed by the Student Success Office within 10 business days after submission, and students will be notified by email if they have a block.

If the application needs to be reviewed by the Faculty Board, the review can take closer to 4 weeks.

If the application has blocks, the application will remain pending until the blocks are removed.  Applications will remain pending until classes start for the semester.

When a decision is made, you will be able to view it online via the application system.
